Sappi Paper Mill

Newkirk has provided the Sappi Paper Mill with electrical services for over 30 years, from paper machine rebuilds, to emergency fire restoration work, to the construction of a new cogeneration power plant. Recently, this customer required electrical upgrades and maintenance support for specialized paper processing equipment. The project represented a significant challenge as the equipment ran 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shutdowns and machine downtime were extremely expensive and demanded fast and efficient management. Newkirk responded by coordinating crews of electricians with specialized tooling to complete both maintenance and upgrade functions in short periods of time. Newkirk also conducted environmental monitoring to ensure safety throughout the project.
