Renewable Energy

Newkirk Electric has been active in engineering and constructing of renewable energy projects for over 40 years.  Since the company's foray into renewable power with hydroelectric systems in the 1960's, Newkirk Electric has grown into a leader in this rapidly changing market. Newkirk Electric has engineered and constructed a variety of green power projects across the U.S. for utilities, municipalities, industrial customers, farmers, and private developers. Many of these projects have been "industry-firsts" including the first cow manure-powered semi-trucks in the U.S.; the largest operational solar farm in North America (at the time of commissioning); and, the first digester in the U.S. to generate both electricity and pipeline grade natural gas.
