Project Overview
Newkirk was awarded these two projects which consisted of adding a new bay to the 345KV substation and replacing one existing breaker and added steel, wire and a new breaker in the 765KV switchyard. For the new bay, the scope included:
- Install concrete foundations for switches, breakers, bus supports and structural steel
- Install the structural steel, the underground and above ground grounding, underground and above ground conduit, tubular bus and cable bus, insulators, CCVT, set SF6 breakers in place and install several switches
- Install trenwa cable trench
- Pull cable and terminate to the SF6 breakers and install and terminate the interpole wiring
