Theka Engineering Associates Inc., a subsidiary of Newkirk Electric, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (EE3) to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to complex projects in the electric utility and industrial sectors.
Position Overview
As an Electrical Engineer EE3 you will apply advanced engineering principles to complex field and office-based projects, providing technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and support staff. Work is guided by a senior engineer through periodic reviews and final checks of completed projects and reports. You will be responsible for ensuring project excellence and quality while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

Muskegon, Michigan, In-Person or On-site (various Midwest locations)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize electrical systems and facilities for diverse projects.
- Utilize computer-aided engineering and design software for technical tasks.
- Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
- Perform detailed calculations and prepare technical drawings and specifications.
- Supervise and mentor project team members.
- Oversee project execution to ensure timely completion, budget adherence, and quality standards.
- Address customer concerns and recommend effective solutions.
- Plan layouts for power generation plants, distribution lines, and stations.
- Develop budgets and estimates for labor, materials, and construction costs.
- Conduct field surveys and analyze data to resolve power system issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Proficiency in engineering software, computers, and electronics.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to safety, integrity, and high-quality work.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments, including challenging conditions.
